Mountain Stream Up Close

Mountain Stream Pebbles

Just one photo today for Watery Wednesday. This photo was taken with my old non digital Pentax some years ago. What you see is the bed of a mountain stream. The stream is high up in the Snowy Mountains in southern NSW, Australia. The water was very clear and icy cold and even drinkable.

We had stopped by the river for a picnic. Lots of big, smooth bolders to sit on and a lovely view of the stream and its many tiny inhabitants.

  1. those are lovely colored river stones. We have colored stones also but in the beach. Maybe the soil there is also reach in iron making the rocks rusty like that.
